Abnormal cold will come to Moscow and the north-western regions of Russia on Saturday, March 6. The next day, such weather will spread throughout the European part of the country, warned TASS scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand.
According to his forecast, the air temperature in Moscow will be two to four degrees below normal. So, until the end of the working days, the weather in the capital will be abnormally warm, but on weekends, night temperatures will drop to 9-14 degrees below zero, daytime temperatures – to minus five degrees. “On Sunday, the cooling will slow down a little, then there will be a decrease again,” the forecaster predicted. At the same time, the temperature will be felt even lower than on the thermometer columns, since a strong wind is predicted – its gusts will reach 17 meters per second.
The cooling will be more noticeable in the Northwestern Federal District and in the north of the Urals. In these regions, temperatures will be eight degrees below normal. The exception will be the Rostov region, the Stavropol region and the regions located on the Lower Volga. There the weather will be set within normal limits.
Earlier, Wilfand predicted frequent weather changes in March. According to him, a heterogeneous month is expected throughout Russia. So, warm weather will often be replaced by cold, and “dry” days – by periods of precipitation in different forms.
