Azerbaijan claims nine deaths during shelling of Ganja

The death toll as a result of rocket attacks on the Azerbaijani city of Ganja (the second largest in the country) has reached nine, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan reports. Armenia and unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh deny shelling the city.
Earlier, the aide to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, reported on Twitter about seven dead and 33 wounded. According to him, three residential buildings were destroyed.
The Ministry of Defense of Nagorno-Karabakh previously stated on Facebook that the Azerbaijani side is spreading false information that the units of the defense army are targeting the city of Ganja. This information was also duplicated on her page by the press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan.
On the eve of Baku and Yerevan agreed on an armistice in the conflict zone from 12:00 (11:00 Moscow time) on October 10. The talks were held in Moscow with the mediation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Immediately thereafter, the parties accused each other of violating the ceasefire. The President of Nagorno-Karabakh said that “a full-fledged suspension of fire did not take place.”
