The Georgian Parliament passed a vote of confidence to the candidate for the post of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, his government and program. The vote was broadcast live on the legislature’s website.
“89 are for, two are against. The parliament expressed its confidence in the Georgian government, ”said Speaker Archil Talakvadze.
75 votes were needed to make the decision.
As reported by IA REGNUM, on February 18, “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia” nominated Garibashvili for the post of Prime Minister of the republic. Until now, he served as Minister of Defense.
The current Deputy Georgian Defense Minister Juanshera Burchuladze will be appointed head of the Georgian Defense Ministry. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure will also be replaced: instead of Maya Tskitishvili, her deputy Irakli Karseladze will be appointed.
