The human rights center “Viasna” reported that 166 people were detained at the protest actions in Minsk on Sunday. Most of them were detained in Minsk, two – in Grodno, one – in Novogrudok, Grodno region. The Minsk police do not comment on the information about the arrests.
Protests in Belarus have continued since August 9, 2020. The protesters demand a review of the results of the presidential elections, in which, according to official data, Mr. Lukashenko won, as well as investigations of cases of violence used during the dispersal of rallies.
