Starting next week, the Moscow authorities will tighten control over the observance of the mask and glove regime in the metro. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, checks will take place at all metro stations in the capital.
“This week, we will strengthen control over wearing masks and gloves in public transport. Checks will be carried out at 100% of Moscow metro stations, joint raids of the Transportation Organizer and the police will take place in the cars, ”the Transport Department said in a statement (quoted by Interfax).
Also, the number of checks will increase on buses, electric buses, trams and at the MCD. “Please, if a trip is necessary, prepare for it in advance and fulfill only two simple conditions: put on a mask and gloves,” the city authorities reminded.
Earlier, the Moscow authorities called non-compliance with sanitary measures the main reason for the sharp increase in new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in the capital. Over the past day, more than 4.6 thousand new infected people have been identified in the city. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 362 thousand Muscovites have been infected. Against the background of the complication of the epidemiological situation in the city, the authorities of the capital returned some of the restrictions.
