Ombudsman of Karabakh named the number of dead and wounded since the beginning of the fighting

During two weeks of confrontation in Nagorno-Karabakh, 25 people were killed, 102 more were wounded. Ombudsman for human rights of the unrecognized republic Artak Beglaryan announced this, news.am reports.
“More than half of those killed are over 50 years old, nine of the 25 dead are women, one is a nine-year-old child. Among the wounded there are also children, many women and elderly people, ”he said.
Beglaryan also posted an interim report on Facebook, according to which 20 civilians were killed from September 27 to October 9, of which 12 were men and eight women. At the same time, 12 people were killed in their homes, one in the workplace, and seven more in public places. Also during this period 101 people were injured, 68 men and 13 women were seriously injured.
Thus, over the weekend, October 10 and 11, the number of victims increased by five people, the number of victims – by one person.
On the first day of the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, September 27, Beglaryan reported the first victims. According to him, as a result of shelling from Azerbaijan, a woman and a child were killed, two more were injured.
Earlier on October 11, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan reported that seven people were killed and 30 injured as a result of rocket attacks on Ganja from Armenia.
Fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh resumed in late September, with both sides accusing each other of escalating the conflict. Each country suffered losses, including in the personnel of the armed forces.
The presidents of Russia, France and the United States in a joint statement called on the leaders of the two countries to immediately stop hostilities and return to negotiations.
