A 67-year-old Russian was admitted to the hospital on January 15 in a severe cytokine storm. Computed tomography showed 80 percent lesion of one lung and 90 percent of the other. “The patient spent almost a month on non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Doctors fought daily for his life, ”the headquarters said in a statement.
They noted that the man feels well, breathes on his own. According to the results of computed tomography, there is a positive trend – residual effects in the form of pulmonary fibrosis.
At the end of December last year, a patient from Penza with complete lung damage recovered from coronavirus. The Russian was hospitalized with severe pneumonia and 100% lung damage. The man was in the hospital for a month and a half and spent several days in intensive care.
