In the Irkutsk region, as part of a criminal investigation, the head of correctional colony No. 6 (IK-6) and the head of the operational department of SIZO-1 were detained, the FSIN of Russia reports. The names of the detainees are not given, but it is known from open sources that the head of IK-6 is Aleksey Agapov.
The head of the colony was detained in the case of illegal actions on the part of prisoners against convict Bakiev, and the head of the operative department of the pre-trial detention center – in the case of bullying the convict Ondar.
As a reminder, on January 18, after a large number of complaints about human rights violations in the Irkutsk region, a comprehensive inspection of the Federal Penitentiary Service began in colonies and pre-trial detention centers. Last week, it was reported that nine criminal cases of torture had been opened. At least 75 people are injured.
On February 25, Andrei Vereshchak, head of the Angarsk colony No. 15, was detained and then placed under house arrest. He was charged under paragraph 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of office). In April 2020, a riot occurred in the colony, as a result of which its industrial zone was severely burned out.
