The mayor of the Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv joked about the search for a drowned man, saying that he would “pop up on his own.” This was reported by the TV channel “360”.
The man allegedly drowned in the city lake. For three days, rescuers did not find the body. The head of the city suggested that too many rescue services were involved in the search.
Martsinkiv also noted that, perhaps, the missing person “has already swam and went home.” The mayor then added that the man would “pop up on his own.”
In April last year, Martsinkiv demanded that the Roma be taken out of the city to the Transcarpathian region. He stressed that the police were provided with a bus at her request. “Why weren’t they packed and taken out?” – asked the mayor and added that “we need to make a second trip.” Later, he justified himself for his words, noting that he did not see any discrimination in this. According to him, it was about specific individuals who have not adhered to quarantine for a long time, more than a month.
Martsinkiv is a member of the Ukrainian nationalist party Svoboda. She has one mandate in the Verkhovna Rada and 50 seats in city councils.
