The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) did not fire German Ottman Azaytar, who violated security protocols ahead of the tournament in Abu Dhabi. ESPN reports.
The UFC management decided to spare Ottman and give the athlete a second chance. The head of promotion Dana White announced this to ESPN. Thus, the organization fundamentally changed its decision, made almost a month ago.
On January 22, White announced that the German Moroccan fighter would no longer be in the UFC. Azitar violated safety rules: he tried to help strangers enter the “bubble” created in order to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus on the “fighting island” Yas.
Azaytar has 13 victories and not a single defeat. In the UFC, he had two fights. Prior to signing with the promotion, he performed at Brave and GMC.
