Ukrainian writer Larisa Nitsoy saw in Lviv a tendency towards “Russification” of the city. She wrote about this on her Facebook.
“Dear Lviv citizens, I am ashamed to ask. Where is your Bandera flag? ” She asked. Nitsoy said that the inhabitants of the western city “slide into the Russian world every day”, not paying attention to the fact that “on the streets of the” spiritual capital of Ukraine “the Russian language is increasingly heard.”
“It’s like I’m in Kiev.” – the writer was indignant.
Earlier, Nitsoy called Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov and Fyodor Dostoevsky the tentacles of the Russian world. She explained that these tentacles are cultivated in Ukraine, but you need to know the works of these writers. “But when the 200th anniversary of [Panteleimon] Kulish is not celebrated in Ukraine, but the 200th anniversary of Pushkin is celebrated, this is wrong. For us, Kulish is much more significant, because we, in fact, write with “kulishivka”, ”Nitsoy added, noting that Pushkin is nothing for Ukraine.
Prior to that, Nitsoy criticized the selection participants for the international Eurovision-2020 contest. The writer was displeased with the use of the Russian language. In particular, she reproached the singer Assol, who grew up in Donetsk, for speaking Russian. Nitsoy also called the jury members “goats” for their conversations in Russian.
