UN Secretary General calls for observance of ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh

Antonio Guterres also called the situation in Ganja unacceptable. On the night before, on October 17, the second largest city of Azerbaijan came under rocket fire, 13 people were killed, more than 40 were injured. The Azerbaijani authorities stated that the rockets were fired from the territory of Armenia. Yerevan denies involvement in the shelling.
According to the agreement reached by the parties to the conflict, the humanitarian ceasefire in the region was to start operating from midnight on October 18. At the same time, active hostilities are being conducted in the south of Nagorno-Karabakh throughout the day. Yerevan announced two shot down drones of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Baku – about the destruction of the Su-25 and the capture of a strategic bridge on the border with Iran.
